Once again, an attempt to keep track of films seen and books read… I know I missed a lot of graphic novels when you count the collected editions (since I read a fair number for review purposes in serialized formats), as well as for the various zines I’ve read. This was a hectic year in terms of school and this fell to the wayside a bit. I added a bunch in at the end of the year but still, I’m sure there were some big holes. Unsurprisingly, the numbers went down because of graduate school.

Glad you enjoyed The Yiddish Policemen’s Union — that’s long been one of my favorites!
Lotta movies! What percentage did you watch in theater versus waiting for streaming or rental etc later? I had a bunch on my watch list at beginning of year, only ended up seeing 17 total, about 2/3 on DVDs, a few that I started skimming or abandoned that I expected to be good and couldn’t get into. I need to get a pretty good movie to justify seeing in theater, didn’t think most rated more than 7/10, has been decreasing my movie going as crappy movies drag down interest in seeing at theater versus waiting for library to get get them or redbox…

Toby: All but one (Late Spring) were at the theater; Charlie is a big fan of going to the movies. A handful of them were at either the AFI Docs or AFI European Union film festivals, which helped a bit. That said, I have enough waiting on dvd that I’m hoping to tackle some more of them this year.
